本技術榮獲2017 年全球百大科技研發獎與綠色科技特殊貢獻獎。
工研院材化所花費逾10年開發循環液晶面板技術,將面板之玻璃改質為高性能孔洞材料,有效發揮循環再利用並增值之藝術。其中,工研院將面板玻璃改質之奈米孔洞材料製成調濕板。當環境中水分過多時,調濕板可利用奈米孔洞以毛細現象吸收環境多餘水分,並於乾燥環境釋出部分所含水分,使整體環境濕度變化趨於溫和。
Material and Chemical Research Laboratories(MCL) of Industrial Technology Research Institute(ITRI) has spent over 10 years developing recycling and regeneration technology for liquid crystal panels (LCD). The glass in the panels is modified into high-performance porous material, effectively demonstrating the concept of recycling and circulation economy. In this process, ITRI uses nano porous materials derived from modified LCD glass to create a Humidity Control Board.
When the environment has excess moisture, the humidity control board utilizes nanoscale pores through capillary action to absorb the surplus moisture, and in dry conditions, it releases some of the contained moisture, moderating overall environmental humidity to be comfortable.

因應台灣氣候高溫潮濕,許多需控濕之精品須放置於防潮箱內,環境濕度變化劇烈,亦為造成國人過敏問題之隱因,工研院將調濕板經藝術設計,鑲嵌於屏風櫃、畫框中,除了不需電力即可調控室內整體濕度,櫃體內亦可放置對濕度控制要求高之精品,完美使科技融入生活。
Because of Taiwan's hot and humid climate, many humidity-sensitive valuables need to be placed in dehumidification boxes. The drastic changes in environmental humidity are also hidden factors contributing to allergic problems among the people. To address this, ITRI has designed humidity control boards with artistic elements and embedded them into screen cabinets or picture frame. These cabinets can control the overall indoor humidity without any electricity. In addition, humidity-sensitive valuables can be placed in them for proper humidity regulation, perfectly integrating technology into life.
