NaPoGlass Adsorption System: Circulation of Metal Processing Water
■ Technology Overview
NaPoGlass, developed by our laboratory, is a nanoporous glass material that creates new applications for recycling. Through a circular design and patented nanoporous glass modification technology, LCD glass is transformed into NaPoGlass, a nanoporous material with excellent adsorption capacity for metal ions. The NaPoGlass adsorption system is applied to water recycling in the metal processing processes of industries such as semiconductors, electronics, plumbing hardware, and fasteners. Without the need for chemical coagulants, metal sludge is eliminated, promoting low-carbon electroplating processes and making metal wastewater treatment more stable. This fully circular material application model, which "treats waste with waste" and achieves zero waste, won the 2025 Edison Awards Gold Award for Materials Science Circular Design.

NaPoGlass utilizes recycled LCD glass to create a nanoporous structure, which is then applied to the water circulation systems of metal electroplating processes, serving as a functional additive with a "dual-circulation" feature. Through innovative low-carbon grafting technology, it forms a stable solid-state copper ion structure, exhibiting excellent performance in antimildew, antibacterial, antiviral, deodorization, while ensuring long-lasting durability. In fiber applications, it further demonstrates color-stability properties.
